The Afghani Monalisa



This is an Afghani girl in a refugee camp of Pakistan in 1984 during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.During the Soviet Union's bombing of Afghanistan her parents were died and she sent to the Nasir Bagh refugee camp in Pakistan forcely.A photographer of National Geographic, Steve McCurry take her picture,This one was titled "Afghan Girl" and appeared on the June 1985 cover of National Geographic.The image of her face and her hypnotic sea-green eyes later become the symbol of Afghanistan conflict.This was also the most recognize photograph in the history of Magazine.It has also attracted human rights organizations towards the conditions of refugees world wide.Later it was compared with Monalisa.
